Your Role on Our Team:
The VP of Distribution Operations is a newly created role within our organization and is a senior leadership position in the Milwaukee Tool Distribution Network. You will be responsible for setting the strategic direction as well as meeting the operational goals for the Distribution Network, Inbound Products Strategy, In-network Transportation, Product Slotting, and Quality Assurance across multiple sites.
Our successful candidate possesses superb business judgment, significant experience with multi-site distribution center operations and strong skills in working collaboratively and cross-functionally. The candidate must also possess a proven track record of delivering results in a Lean / Continuous Improvement environment. This individual will be a strong people manager with the ability to effectively manage multiple layers of management across a 24/7 five-shift operation.

Strategic Responsibilities:
Align with key broad business leadership to develop business vision and strategies that will enable best in class customer service while minimizing waste
Develop inventory strategies for Inbound Receiving
Establish, promote, and sustain a vision and mission, related to year-over-year quality improvements and long-term goals
Promote a vision and action for compliance and standards across the company, fostering cooperation, globalization and positive communication
Align and develop a large Associate team, relevant systems, and processes for multiple facilities within the Distribution Network
Assess activities and identify opportunities to make improvements using business transformation concepts
Model, lead and coach people on the culture and innovation, necessary to support and sustain required business growth objectives
Build Organizational and Development Capacity
Operational Responsibilities:
Collaborate across the Supply Chain to improve on-time fill rates, site inventory levels, reduce touches and reduce cost
Maintain full working knowledge of the Distribution Center systems/platforms.
Provide guidance and support to the Receiving, Slotting, Quality, and Operations staff as needed
Develop annual strategy deployment plans and key performance indicator (KPI) targets linked to business objectives
Assure the distribution network and resources adequately support accuracy requirements and priorities in order to create customer value addressing elements critical to business success.
Responsible for establishing and leading local site implementation of annual Quality Objectives and Key Business Drivers established for DC operations.
Build consistent/repeatable processes with teams to include visual management.
Utilize metrics and reporting to effectively monitor processes, report on performance, drive improvement, and provide cost savings to the business.
Partner with Operations, Sales, and Supply Chain Relations on customer related issues and driving claims to resolution where escalation is needed.
Travel to support Quality Management and audit functions at other DC facilities, and support Customer visits to gain an understanding of Customer issues, determine root cause, establish, and drive corrective actions and improve Customer satisfaction.
Managing key programs and projects, communicating progress, escalating challenges, and clear and timely communication to stakeholders
Utilize the current warehouse management system to standardize and sustain the performance improvement and improvement process
Identify and require modifications to the current WMS in the interest of industry leading receiving, slotting, planning, and quality best practices.

The TOOLS you\xe2\x80\x99ll bring with you:
Bachelor\'s Degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field required
Minimum of 10 years\' experience within distribution operations, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing
10+ years\' demonstrated experience in managing a large staff and in developing successful cross-functional teams
Resilient, self-motivated and able to work well under pressure
Demonstrates success in Project Leadership and Lean Thinking Principles are a plus
Computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.)
