The VP, Operations will play a pivotal role in the strategic direction and operational success of our organization. This executive will oversee Compliance, Operations Support, and Marketing, ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, and high-quality service delivery. The VP, Operations will be responsible for developing and implementing operational strategies that align with the company's vision and goals. The position will be responsible for the oversight of departmental Key Performance Indicators and make necessary approved changes to daily procedures where needed to help drive positive performance on a national scale. The Vice President, Operations will be part of McCormack Baron Management's Executive Leadership team and will hold a key role within the organization.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions:
Oversee compliance, operations support, and marketing, providing direction, mentorship, and support to ensure alignment with company goals. Develop, set, and monitor all initiatives, create goals and benchmarks for success through Key Performance Indicators. (KPIs) and financial measures.
Collaborate with other company leaders for the creation, implementation, and/or maintenance of the company's Standard Operating Procedures. This will include review and approval of policies to achieve the management company's overall goals.
Establish performance standards and conduct regular evaluations to ensure that departmental goals are met and aligned with overall company objectives.
Analyze departmental costs and identify areas for cost reduction while maintaining service standards. Present on projects/initiatives monthly to Leaders, Stakeholders, and Ownership.
Foster a culture of continuous learning by identifying training needs and developing programs for staff development and organizational growth.
Partner with leaders within MBC to develop an efficient and coherent process to organize and support the communities.
Partner with financial leadership to create and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports ensuring accountability and fiscal responsibility.
Develop and maintain relationships within MBC, Human Capital Partners, State and Local leaders and assist with attaining future property management business.
Remain current on local, state, and federal issues related to the affordable housing industry and disseminate the information accordingly.
Identify potential operational risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring that necessary controls and measures are in place.
Attend meetings and develop executive reports deliverable to leadership, investors, and stakeholders.
Lead and mentor teams, fostering a collaborative and accountable culture.
Undertake other reasonable duties as directed from time to time by the President of McCormack Baron Management.
Experience:
Experience effectively leading significant organizational growth from a people perspective.
Must be a hands-on leader willing to implement and continually manage new initiatives on their own.
Motivated and well-organized with attention to detail
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence /coach
Must be highly credible and trustworthy in handling confidential information
Working knowledge of local and federal laws including Fair Housing
Strategic vision with critical thinking in high stress scenarios involving owners, employees and residents
Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, i.e. creating and delivering proposals/presentations and speaking to a diverse audience
Microsoft Office knowledge a must, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Education:
Bachelor's degree in business or business-related degree preferred
10+ years related work experience in Property Management and/or, Performance Management.
Must have knowledge of LIHTC, Public Housing, Project Based, Market rate Housing and Revenue Maximization
Experience with Property Management software programs and experience with transition between systems is preferred.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely utilizes standard office equipment such as computers, phone, photocopiers/printers, and filing cabinets.
This position requires sitting, bending, stooping, or standing as necessary. Our offices are equipped with electronic desks for standing or sitting.
