Summary:



The Vice President for Institutional Advancement is responsible for leading a cohesive and effective division that encompasses development, alumni affairs, sponsored programs, public affairs, marketing and communications, and special events. This senior administrator ensures a coordinated approach to fundraising and public relations across the University, supporting its strategic priorities. The Vice President reports directly to the President and serves as a member of the Executive Cabinet.

Responsibilities:



Direct all giving programs, including capital, annual, alumni, and planned giving. Increase fundraising through capital campaigns, scholarship endowments, major and planned gifts, and alumni engagement. Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan that involves faculty, staff, students, and the Board of Trustees. Supervise and mentor directors and staff within the Office of Institutional Advancement. Identify, cultivate, and steward donor prospects; ensure timely follow-up and donor recognition. Collaborate with the President to engage key donors and prospects. Design and maintain an effective Alumni Giving Program. Establish measurable goals and performance metrics for one-, three-, and five-year fundraising and advancement plans. Attend convocations, faculty and staff meetings, and other official University functions. Perform other related duties as assigned by the President.

Qualifications:



Doctorate degree preferred; master's degree required. Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in higher education or nonprofit fundraising. At least five (5) years in a senior-level administrative or leadership role. Proven success in major gift solicitation, capital campaigns, and endowment development. Demonstrated ability to build and sustain donor relationships across diverse constituencies. Strong supervisory experience, with the ability to lead, coach, and develop staff. Experience integrating advancement strategies with marketing, communications, and digital engagement. Strong understanding of fundraising ethics, donor relations, and applicable laws and regulations. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Strategic planning expertise with demonstrated fiscal and operational management skills. Collaborative leadership style with the ability to work effectively with trustees, senior leadership, faculty, staff, alumni, and external partners. Ability to travel and attend evening or weekend events as required. High degree of professionalism, creativity, vision, and integrity.
