Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW & PURPOSE

Reporting directly to the CFO, the VP of Finance will support organizational objectives by taking the primary leadership role in the Real Estate Group Finance function. The VP of Finance will oversee all process improvements and day-to-day roles in the finance group. The role will work closely with the CFO and regularly interact with ownership, accounting, tax, legal, and treasury personnel on behalf of the Real Estate Group to effectively meet ownership and team objectives.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

TEAM MANAGEMENT:



Manages Finance team, currently comprised of two Associates and one Financial Analyst Finance team owns Financial Reporting, Deal Underwriting, and Capital Markets Creates a team-focused environment in the finance group that draws upon strengths for all members. Mentors staff to improve understanding of work and encourages staff to take on more responsibilities within the group. Ensuring Finance team is cross trained with redundancy / backup for key tasks/processes

FINANCIAL REPORTING:



Manages process to generate BREG Annual Operating Plan as well as periodic LOB and Advisory Committee presentations. Creates financial presentations and AFE documents presented to Ownership Board of Directors. Responsible for administering and maintaining reporting for all Long-Term Compensation plans (reporting, capital calls, payments, AUP) Closely monitors corporate, property, and entity level performance to ensure compliance with approved budgets and any applicable AFE. Prepares and maintains BREG level cash forecasts. Serves as liaison between the Real Estate Group and Ownership for cash forecasting. Works with Accounting and Asset Management teams to update forecasts during the year Responsible for tracking compliance for all debt covenants, including all lender reporting.

DEAL UNDERWRITING:



Play a leading role in underwriting for new developments or acquisitions, working with the Asset Management and Development teams to ensure financial aspects of deal are covered Responsible for Real Estate Fund investor reporting, deal underwriting, and land development budget / spending / forecast Preparing presentations for deals being presented to ownership for investment Ensuring that Finance team supports projects appropriately for full coverage in line with priorities Tenant credit approval

CAPITAL MARKETS:



Prepares all lender RFP's for debt requests. Manages preparation of offering materials and supports equity raising efforts via direct equity relationships or through placement agents Is actively involved in negotiation and closing of all debt and equity transactions. Works with legal counsel and lenders/investors to provide the optimum outcome. Maintains all Fund level waterfall calculations, fee calculations, and fund level budgets. Prepares and monitors all capital call/distributions, including preparation of all periodic investor reports. Responsible for all internal Fund compliance (LPAC, Investment Committee, approvals, etc.) Responds to all investor inquiries. Responsible for management of portfolio debt strategy including covenant compliance, refinance analysis, strategic financing solutions, and hedging strategies

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:



Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public and regulatory agencies. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations. Thorough operating knowledge of current state of the art commercial real estate financial and analytical tools. Ability to direct the financial affairs of the Company and prepare financial analysis of operations, including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules, for management guidance. Ability to establish major economic objectives and policies for the company. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to analyze and interpret lease agreements. Advanced computer and software skills. Ability to appropriately prioritize and manage multiple requests at once. Organized, detailed, reliable approach to duties and communication. Consistently professional, collaborative, and responsive approach to customer service and interactions with colleagues. Strong ability to self-motivate, take initiative, and manage time to accomplish duties and projects independently. Excellent judgment and ability to ask for help in critical applications. Observance of and commitment to the highest professional ethical standards. Strong ability to supervise and direct large teams.

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

BASIC

Bachelor's Degree in a related field 7+ years Real Estate Experience 3 - 5 years working with a public accounting firm Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.

PREFERRED

Advanced degree in Accounting or a related field CPA or other similar professional designation

SCHEDULE

This position is full time permanent. Working hours are during normal business hours.

TRAVEL

Travel as needed to meet job requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Duties are conducted indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.

COMPENSATION

WAGES

This position is paid an annual salary. Estimated Starting Salary Range: $190,000.00 Exact salary is determined within the stated range by merit; seniority; production rate and/or quality; geographic location; education, training, and/or experience related to job duties and responsibilities; or travel required by the position. Potential additional compensation includes annual bonus.
