This modern, cloud based technology platform is growing quickly with over 10 million lives under contract. This is an exciting opportunity to join our executive team at NorthWinds Technology in the role of Vice President, IT Service and Security. In this Vice President role, you will have the opportunity to drive strategic decisions within a large, highly skilled division of our organization. This role has executive oversight for the company's infrastructure, System Reliability and Service Desk operations for our internal and external clients, security and risk, and the cloud operations while playing a key role in the overall strategy for the company.


Reporting to our company President, this role will be expected to:


Provide leadership and management to the IT Service and Security organization to achieve the mission, vision, and strategies of NorthWinds, including oversight and accountability for the following functional areas: + Security/Compliance/Risk Management
+ Infrastructure
+ IT Service Management
+ System Reliability and Cloud Operations
Provide executive level oversight and set the "tone at the top" for the organization's information/cyber security and risk management programs: protect information assets, ensure the security of critical business partners and vendors, keep current with security and risk strategies and plans, and identify security actions and other enterprise risk mitigation actions that need to be taken based on environment. Track key industry trends such as regulatory and competitive challenges and develop plans and recommendations to mitigate and manage these emerging risks. Responsible for maximizing the benefits the organization realizes over time through thoughtful and efficient utilization of advanced technology offerings by keeping technology assets relevant and resilient to meet rapidly increasing customer expectations. Required to periodically benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT and Cloud infrastructure. Monitor technical debt and advance appropriate initiatives through prioritization forums to maintain a healthy balance. Responsible for implementing a robust set of processes leveraged across the organization for managing Service Requests, Incidents, Problems, Changes, and Release Management activities along with Service Desk, Computer Operations, and Batch Management activities. This includes the creation and maintenance of a standard service catalog within the IT request system with relevant Service Level Agreements, etc. Work with business and technology stakeholders to gain consensus on a prioritized set of measurable business outcomes that the department shall deliver and support. Establish and manage key performance indicators and service level agreements across IT Security, Infrastructure, and Cloud Operations teams as part of a continuous improvement program to meet the organization's needs. Participate on the Executive Team to develop and implement the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel needed to deliver on divisional responsibilities and accommodate NorthWinds' growth objectives. Accountable for people management across division (career conversations, performance management, compensation management, roles & responsibilities, staffing levels, talent development/training, succession planning).

This role will be required to work at least one day per week at our client office in Stevens Point, WI and will also require occasional travel to Naperville, IL.

Experience




Required10 year(s): Prior technology industry experience 5 year(s): Prior experience leading technology teams including w/ departmental planning, organization, coaching, and mentoring of staff/leaders. 5 year(s): Prior insurance industry experience, preferably in health and/or specialty 5 year(s): Strong technical experience with information technology systems, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, applications development, infrastructure requirements, system features and integration capabilities.
