Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician/assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about animal care and possess the skills necessary to provide high-quality support in a veterinary environment. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of our patients while assisting veterinarians in various medical procedures.

Experienced technician or RVT considered- pay commensurate with experience and skills

Duties

Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures. Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed. Monitor animal patients before, during, and after surgery. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Provide compassionate care and support to animals and their owners. Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and training techniques. Handle animals safely and humanely during examinations and treatments. Utilize dental terminology for dental cleanings and procedures when necessary. Assist with grooming tasks as needed to ensure the comfort of the animals.

Experience

Candidates should have experience or knowledge in the following areas:

Veterinary technician practices and protocols. Anesthesia monitoring and induction Dentals preferred but not required Competent with blood draws and cathedars Animal handling Client communication, basic preventative medicine protocols/knowledge Management of hospitalized patients Fear free and CPR trained is a plus
