Veterinary Technician/Assistant - Join Our Dedicated Team
We are a busy, privately owned, 8-doctor small animal practice located in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, with a satellite clinic in Washington, PA. Our team is growing, and we're looking for a Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join us. A veterinary technician license is preferred but not required.
About the Role
As a key member of our clinical team, you will assist with a variety of medical, surgical, and administrative responsibilities, including:
Reviewing and accurately entering patient medical records
Preparing and dispensing medications
Safely restraining animals for exams and procedures
Assisting veterinarians during surgeries, including patient prep, anesthesia monitoring, and dental cleanings
Maintaining detailed anesthesia and surgical records
Preparing and sterilizing surgical packs
Collecting and processing samples for diagnostics with minimal patient stress
Performing in-house lab tests (radiographs, CBCs, blood chemistries, urinalysis, 4DX, FELV/FIV, cultures, etc.)
Providing inpatient care, including administering treatments, IV fluids, medications, and nutrition
Educating clients on home care, medication use, and post-procedure instructions
Managing patient information, scheduling, and communication using practice management software
Preparing and submitting samples to external laboratories
Maintaining clean, stocked exam and treatment areas
Supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive, team-oriented environment
Assisting at the front desk as needed, including greeting clients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, processing payments, and ensuring a welcoming, professional client experience

Who We're Looking For
Prior veterinary experience preferred (technician or assistant)
Proficient in patient restraint, lab work, and surgical assistance
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Compassionate, professional, and dependable
Comfortable using veterinary software (training provided)
Licensed Veterinary Technician preferred but not required
