We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and welfare, along with a willingness and motivation to learn. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting veterinarians and ensuring the well-being of our animal patients.

Duties

Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and equipment. Provide excellent animal care, including feeding, bathing, and exercising animals as needed. Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and treatment areas. Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian. Perform basic laboratory tasks such as collecting samples for testing. Utilize veterinary terminology effectively when communicating with team members and clients. Respond to phone calls, book appointments, and discharge patients.

Requirements

Previous experience handling large animals is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members. Strong computer skills and ability to learn Shepherd veterinary software. A commitment to providing high-quality pet care and maintaining a compassionate environment for animals.
