Job Description

We are a 2-doctor small animal hospital located in beautiful Raymond Maine. We are 40 minutes from Portland Maine and 50 minutes from Conway, New Hampshire. We are open Monday through Thursday. We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and compassionate individual. Must be a licensed veterinary technician (LVT) or have equivalent experience.

In this position, you will utilize your superior technician and client service skills to their fullest--delivering the highest quality patient care. You are eligible for full time benefits at 30 hours. Wage is based on experience/license but the range would be $20-$25 an hour.

Main Responsibilities:

Excellent customer service, client communication skills and competency in using computers, veterinary software systems, and back up on phones.

Be well versed in animal handling/restraint and animal behavior/ability to lift to 50 pounds.

Ability to set up, assist and monitor in surgery; IV catheter placement; intubation; administration and monitoring of anesthesia; perform dental prophylaxis; patient recovery.

Run in-house laboratory tests: blood work using comprehensive Idexx equipment including: UA Analyzer; SediVue Dx Urine Sediment Analyzer

Calculate and administer medications, venipuncture.

Take digital X-rays; administer therapeutic laser treatments; assist with ECG's.

Check in patients and obtain initial history; draw up and administer vaccines; assist veterinarian during exams.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 60 - 80 per week
