About the Role
We are seeking an
experienced Veterinary Technician
with a strong foundation in clinical skills and a collaborative working style. This role involves patient care, diagnostics, anesthesia assistance, surgical support, and clear communication with both clients and teammates.
Core Responsibilities
Greet clients, gather patient history, and enter records accurately
Safely and gently restrain cats and dogs for exams and treatments
Perform in-house diagnostics (bloodwork, urinalysis, cytology, fecals)
Place IV catheters and perform venipuncture
Administer medications and vaccines as directed
Assist with anesthesia monitoring during procedures (training available)
Assist in surgical preparation and support with surgical instrument cleaning and care
Take and process digital radiographs
Provide attentive nursing care to hospitalized and post-operative patients
Communicate treatment plans and patient updates in a kind, clear manner
Support clinic flow and maintain a clean, organized treatment environment
Experience & Skills
Required:
2+ years of experience as a Veterinary Technician in a clinical setting
Strong animal restraint and handling skills
Competency in venipuncture and IV catheter placement
Comfort assisting with anesthesia monitoring (or willingness to learn with support)
Ability to collaborate within a team and communicate effectively with clients
Ability to lift and handle animals of various sizes safely
Strong Plus (Not Required):
Dental cleaning and dental radiograph experience
Maine Veterinary Technician license (or eligible to obtain)
