Responsibilities

Greet clients warmly, answer phone calls promptly, and schedule appointments efficiently to maximize clinic flow. Manage patient check-in and check-out processes with accuracy, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed. Collect payments for services rendered, while providing clear explanations of the itemized receipt. Maintain organized medical records, update patient information, and ensure confidentiality at all times. Coordinate kennel assignments and oversee pet care logistics to support animal husbandry efforts. Facilitate communication between pet owners and veterinary professionals regarding treatment plans and follow-up care. Support laboratory procedures by understanding veterinary terminology related to diagnostics. Assist with pet weighing and or handling when necessary to ensure both pet and owner safety. Maintain a clean and organized reception area, adhering to aseptic techniques when handling medical supplies or samples. Support veterinary critical care efforts by managing urgent calls or requests efficiently and calmly. Contribute to a team environment by collaborating with veterinary technicians and other staff members to deliver outstanding animal care.

Requirements

Previous experience in veterinary reception or administrative roles within animal clinics is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, restraint techniques, and pet care practices. Ability to handle various animals confidently, including dogs during weighing or loading/unloading from owner's vehicle. Familiarity with kennel operations, animal husbandry practices, and pet grooming is advantageous. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain simple procedures clearly to clients. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for managing records, appointments, and billing accurately. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism under pressure. A compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners coupled with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
