The hospital is dedicated to providing high-quality care for pets and exceptional service to their owners in the St. Joseph, MO, Northwest Missouri, and surrounding areas. In addition to preventative medicine, The North Pointe team also aims to offer 24/7 hospitalization and emergency services.

Position Summary:

As a Veterinary Receptionist, you'll be the first point-of-contact for clients seeking care for their pets. You will primarily manage front-desk operations, coordinate patient flow, and support our clinical team. This role requires strong communication skills, multitasking abilities, and a calm, professional demeanor under pressure. Successful applicants will also possess a collaborative team spirit that contributes positively to our hospital's working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with opening, onboarding, and training of new staff Develop a strong understanding of our veterinary software and systems Greet clients and their pets with compassion and professionalism Answer multi-line phones, respond to emails, schedule appointments Check clients in and out; accurately enter and update client/patient information Collect payments and explain invoices Coordinate patient intake and assist with medical records Communicate with veterinarians, technicians, and clients to ensure smooth workflow Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area Uphold hospital policies and maintain confidentiality

Qualifications:

Prior experience in a veterinary or medical reception role preferred, but not required Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to remain calm and empathetic in high-stress or emergency situations Basic computer proficiency (familiarity with veterinary practice software is a plus) Reliable, punctual, and able to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
