Duties



Greet clients warmly upon arrival, providing excellent customer service and guiding them through check-in procedures. Manage appointment scheduling efficiently to optimize clinic flow and reduce wait times. Collect payments, process medical billing, and handle financial transactions with accuracy and professionalism. Assist with medical collections by verifying client information and processing payments for services rendered. Maintain accurate client records, update patient information, and ensure confidentiality of sensitive data. Support kennel operations by coordinating pet drop-offs and pick-ups, ensuring animals are handled gently and safely. Assist veterinary staff with animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, grooming, and basic pet care when needed. Handle animal restraint during examinations or procedures using proper techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff. Support laboratory procedures by preparing samples, recording results, and maintaining cleanliness of lab areas. Maintain a clean, organized reception area, including pet grooming supplies, educational materials, and office equipment. Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, upcoming appointments, or follow-up needs. Support the veterinary team with tasks like animal catheterization or administering basic treatments under supervision when appropriate. Assist with laboratory testing procedures involving blood work or other diagnostic samples as directed by veterinarians.

Qualifications



Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal shelter is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and restraint techniques to assist in clinical settings. Ability to handle animals confidently using proper restraint methods; experience with dog handling and general animal handling skills are essential. Knowledge of aseptic technique for maintaining sterile environments during clinical procedures. Laboratory experience related to sample preparation or diagnostic testing is beneficial. Experience working with diverse animals including dogs, cats, equines (horses), or other species enhances your versatility in this role. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members while demonstrating professionalism and empathy. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
