As a Boarding Assistant at Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center & Urgent Care, you'll provide compassionate care to our boarding patients while learning entry-level veterinary technician skills in a supportive, fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

As a Boarding Assistant at Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center & Urgent Care, you will help ensure pets staying with us are safe, comfortable, and cared for. This role is hands-on with animals and requires teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include:

Feeding, watering, medicating, and bathing pets. Walking dogs, exercising animals, and providing enrichment. Observing animals for signs of illness or distress and reporting concerns to leads or doctors. Cleaning and disinfecting kennels, runs, yards, litter boxes, food/water bowls, and bedding. Operating laundry equipment and maintaining clean bedding. Moving pets safely between exercise areas and kennels. Documenting pet care activities and belongings in the Electronic Whiteboard. Cross-training in the treatment area to assist with similar care duties.

Responds quickly and professionally to requests from technicians, leads, and clients. Maintains exceptional cleanliness and patient care standards. Consistently arrives on time and demonstrates a positive, team-oriented attitude. Follows BRVC processes, protocols, and values in all tasks. Demonstrates safety, compassion, and attention to detail in all pet handling.

Minimum Requirements

16 years of age or older. Strong interpersonal skills for working with clients, co-workers, and leadership. Physical ability to: Stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods. Leash walk dogs up to 150+ lbs. Lift up to 25 lbs alone and 55 lbs with a partner. Restrain animals safely and humanely. Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced, physically active environment. Strong spoken English communication skills. Comfort working around cleaning agents, germicides, and insecticides (protective gear provided).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
