We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at a busy veterinary clinic. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting veterinarians and ensuring the well-being of our patients. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing high-quality care.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow. Provide compassionate care to animals, including handling, restraint, and comfort. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and treatment areas. Prepare animals for surgery by administering medications and monitoring vital signs. Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic imaging as needed. Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and post-treatment instructions. Manage inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring all items are stocked and ready for use. Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to maintain a sterile environment.

Experience

Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is preferred but not required. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology is advantageous. Familiarity with animal catheterization techniques is a plus. Experience working with equine or large animals is beneficial but not mandatory. Strong understanding of pet care practices and kennel management is desirable.
