Job Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and welfare, along with the necessary skills to support veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to our patients. This role involves a variety of tasks including animal handling, assisting in procedures, and ensuring the clinic runs smoothly.

Duties



Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures. Perform animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for both staff and animals. Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian. Provide basic pet care, including feeding, grooming, and exercising animals. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and treatment areas. Utilize veterinary terminology effectively in communication with staff and clients. Handle laboratory samples and assist with diagnostic testing. Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments and managing client inquiries. Exhibit knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices. Provide care for various species, including dogs, cats, and equines.

Requirements



Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or as a Veterinary Assistant is preferred. Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices is a plus. Knowledge of animal handling techniques and behavior is essential. Experience with medication administration and aseptic techniques is highly desirable. Strong understanding of veterinary terminology and animal physiology. Ability to perform tasks related to animal catheterization when necessary. Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members. A background in kennel work or front desk operations will be beneficial. Must be able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 36 per week
