We are searching for our next teammate who can help us "Redefine the Veterinary Experience". We are seeking a compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to our furry patients, working closely with our veterinarians and nurses to ensure their health and well-being. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about animal care, possess excellent communication skills, and have a strong foundation in veterinary terminology.
Duties:
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with routine examinations, vaccinations, and surgical procedures.
- Provide compassionate care to animals, including hospitalized/ surgical patients, preparing treatment areas, and maintaining a clean environment.
- Handle and restrain animals as needed, utilizing proper techniques and ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Support animal husbandry activities, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring the health of animals in our care.
- Be detailed with clients and stay on top of client communication.
- Collaborate with our veterinary team to provide critical care to animals in need.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest veterinary terminology, animal anatomy knowledge, and equine care practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by our veterinarians.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience working with animals, preferably in a veterinary setting.
- Strong understanding of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy knowledge.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks, such as restraining animals.
-Ability to stand 8-10 hours a day
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and patient-oriented approach to animal care.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with animal husbandry practices and animal handling techniques is a plus.
- Experience with dog handling and dog training is a plus.
