Join the Canyon Pet Hospital Team as a Veterinary Assistant!

Are you passionate about animals and looking to be part of a compassionate, dynamic veterinary team? Canyon Pet Hospital is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to support our veterinarians and provide exceptional care to our furry patients.

Help maintain clean exam rooms, treatment area, and surgical suite. Provide post-operative treatment and care. Ensure cleanliness of kennels and/or cages. Monitoring anesthesia. Basic animal handling such as restraint. Comfortable working with fractious patients. Patient surgical and hospitalized intake and discharge. Assisting veterinarian with exam rooms. Comfortable going over treatment plans with clients. Understanding of veterinary terminology. Excellent customer service. Obtaining medical history. Filling medication with veterinarian supervision. Answering the phone. Scheduling appointments. Submitting samples for diagnostic procedures. Drawing blood. Performing radiographs. Maintaining cleanliness of the area and equipment. Preparing surgical instruments and linen packs as they return from surgery into pack groupings. Obtain vitals on patients who are hospitalized. Being able to work with a team in a busy hospital. Experience using IDEXX laboratory machines. Utilizing any downtime and being productive. Available to work weekends if needed.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 27 - 30 per week
