Full-time: 4 day, 10 hour shift

Animal Hospital of Las Cruces is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.


As a Veterinary Assistant you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.

Role Responsibilities:

Assist veterinarians with gathering patient histories Establish and assist with carrying out treatment plans Perform patient diagnostics such as lab work and radiographs Communicate pertinent information about patient care to clients Maintain hospital and patient cleanliness using aseptic technique, proper protective equipment, and isolation protocol Frequently lift and moves patients up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds with our without reasonable accommodation

Our ideal candidate:

Previous experience in the veterinary field required Exceptional communication skills Professional and courteous Able to multi-task and establish priorities Detail oriented Self-starter who likes to take ownership of your work and you proactively go the extra mile for others with a positive attitude. Likes a challenge, has a desire to learn and grow. Saturday and Sunday availability
