Overview

We are seeking a part-time dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. You will work closely with veterinarians and other staff members to ensure the health and well-being of pets while assisting in various medical procedures and treatments. Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures. Perform routine laboratory tests, including X-rays and blood work. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian. Monitor animal patients' vital signs and overall health status. Provide animal restraint during examinations and procedures to ensure safety for both pets and staff. Maintain accurate medical records for each patient. Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and training techniques. Manage kennel duties, including cleaning and caring for animals in the facility. Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with cleanings and dental radiographs. Exhibit knowledge of animal anatomy to assist in various veterinary tasks.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Veterinary Assistant or similar role is required. Strong knowledge of pet care practices, animal anatomy, and veterinary terminology. Proficiency in animal restraint techniques to ensure safe handling during examinations. Familiarity with X-ray equipment and procedures. Experience with animal IV catheterization. Ability to work effectively in a team environment while maintaining a positive attitude. Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
