Schedule:

4-day work week, rotating Saturdays (8am-12pm)

Hours:

Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri - 8am-6pm

Sat (every other) - 8am-12pm

The Role: Veterinary Assistant

We're looking for an

experienced Veterinary Assistant

who thrives in a collaborative, positive environment and wants to grow with a hospital that invests in its people.

Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting in surgery (intubation, monitoring anesthesia, IV catheter placement) Performing dental charting, scaling, polishing, and digital dental radiography Conducting lab work (including ear cytology and sample prep/reading) Supporting veterinarians in exams and client communication Using low-stress and Fear Free handling techniques

Preferred Experience:

Dental and anesthesia experience Comfort with dogs, cats, and exotics Familiarity with EZYvet and IDEXX in-house lab equipment

Responsibilities

Assist DVMs and credentialed veterinary technicians with appointments, prepping patients for surgery and minor procedures, surgical assisting, and pro-actively set up for any procedures or diagnostic tests Restrain animals in a safe, efficient, and caring manner Obtain accurate vitals, obtain medical histories, and/or note any changes of patient's condition to DVM Collect and prepare laboratory samples such as fecal, urine, and ear cytologies Care and maintenance of all medical equipment including laboratory machines, surgical packs, anesthesia machines, and any other tools that are essential to daily operations High quality client communication on patient updates and questions

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED certificate Flexible schedule including some weekend and holiday shifts Knowledge of medical procedures and animal handling Must possess strong communication skills, good judgment and be able to manage stressful situations, and work with others on a team respectfully Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
