VCA Liberty Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team!

We are an AAHA accredited 5-doctor practice in Birmingham, Alabama, seeing dogs, cats, and exotic species. We offer a variety of services including Primary Care, Surgery, and Dentistry, are certified Cat Friendly by the AAFP, and support Fear Free practices. Enjoy mentorship and continuing education opportunities with us at our state-of-the-art, fast-paced hospital!

We are open Monday through Thursday 7am - 7pm, Friday 7am - 6pm, Saturday 7am - 12pm, closed Sundays.

About the Role

As Veterinary Assistant, you will help create and maintain a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our patients and clients. Duties will include:

• Compassionate patient care
• Client education and care
• Venipuncture and catheter placement
• Radiology and diagnostics
• Lab sample collection and processing
• Assist with surgery and dentistry
• Medication preparation and administration
• Safe and effective patient handling and restraint
• Medical recordkeeping
