Veterinarian

Eugene, OR, United States

Job Description

General Statement of Duties

Do you share a love for animals and a passion for addressing pet overpopulation? The City of Eugene is recruiting for a confident, part-time veterinarian & surgeon to join our small, yet dynamic team. As one of Lane County\'s only low-cost Wellness Clinics, we strive to meet the expanding need for these critical services.

The Clinic provides services for a demographic that is diverse in a variety of ways and works hard to embrace the perspectives, ideas and circumstances of many. Non-traditional and outside-the-box thinkers are encouraged to apply!

The City of Eugene Spay & Neuter Clinic is a small-animal, wellness center providing care for cats and dogs only. The Clinic performs spay and neuter surgeries 3 days per week with the expectation of returning to 4 or 5 days as staffing allows. Additionally, the Clinic operates a wellness clinic (vaccinations, parasite control, in-house rapid blood tests, etc.), 5 days per week for the general public. Due to the limited space within the clinic, we continue to utilize a contactless check-in system and provide curbside services only. Read more about the Spay and Neuter Clinic .

On an average day, our veterinary surgeon completes 12-15 spay and neuter surgeries and during our afternoon wellness clinic, the veterinarian on staff examines 20-30 patients. The support staff will serve an additional 20-25 in-person clients for counter services (no vet visit needed). In addition to in-person clients and patients, the staff tends to an additional 50-75 calls daily.
