Vehicle Maintenance Technician

Job Description


We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for motivated, engaged people to help make everyone\xe2\x80\x99s journeys better. Reporting to the local unit director of operations and west regional fleet manager, the Lead Technician Vehicle will be responsible for the upkeep of a fleet of company vehicles and vehicle equipment, perform maintenance on vehicles and vehicle equipment in a timely and cost effective manner and ensure that all facility DOT vehicle are in compliance where applicable

Salary Range: $28 - $33

Employees and immediate family members will fly for free on United Airlines on stand-by (domestic and international).

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Communicates with all required vendors

Sources all needed parts and equipment.

Maintains local preventive maintenance schedule and ensures compliance.

Maintains shop and parts inventory at a required level.

Locates, corrects and adjusts defects on fleet vehicles and vehicle equipment.

Performs preventive maintenance on vehicles and vehicle equipment.

Maintains a clean and organized work area.

Installs and repairs accessories such as radios, heaters, mirrors and windshield wipers.

Maintains detailed records of time and materials used for completion of diagnosis.

Ensures all work is in compliance EPA requirements.

Ensures all company policies and procedures and OSHA standards are maintained to the highest level.

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience:

7+ years preventive maintenance experience.

Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.

Must be able to read electrical schematics and/or vehicle diagrams

Welding and fabrication skills preferred

Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration)

Valid Drivers License

Language / Communication Skills:

Effective communication skills
