We're seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Specialist to join our team. This role is perfect for someone passionate about storytelling, mobile-first video content, and engaging digital audiences across multiple platforms. What You'll Do:

Curate, create, schedule, and publish social media posts across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X (Twitter), YouTube, and more. Develop short-form videos, GIFs, reels, polls, and graphics optimized for mobile and social trends. Shoot and edit video content using mobile devices or DSLR cameras. Collaborate across departments to generate content tied to station programming, community events, and local initiatives. Manage content calendars and coordinate with internal and external creatives to deliver social-first assets. Monitor social trends, hashtags, and viral content to propose innovative opportunities. Engage with our online community by responding to comments and supporting moderation. Track analytics to inform strategy and optimize performance. Assist with live social media coverage of events.

What We're Looking For:

Strong knowledge of social media trends, algorithms, and mobile-first video storytelling. Experience producing short-form video and multimedia content using mobile or DSLR devices. Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Premiere Rush, CapCut, or similar editing tools. Excellent writing skills for captions, headlines, and platform-specific copy. Strong organization, collaboration, and multitasking abilities. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities. Experience handling social media crises professionally. Passion for engaging younger and diverse audiences through mission-aligned content.
