Job Description

Krohmer Plumbing is looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to lead our plumbing design department. This role is ideal for someone with strong field knowledge, an excellent understanding of plumbing codes, and hands-on experience with Revit and plumbing system layouts. You'll be responsible for overseeing design deliverables, mentoring team members, and collaborating closely with project managers and field supervisors to ensure accurate, efficient, and coordinated designs.


Essential Job Functions:

Lead plumbing system layout and modeling in Revit and AutoCAD for commercial projects Manage BIM coordination, clash detection, and model updates throughout the project lifecycle Ensure all designs comply with applicable plumbing codes (UPC) and project specifications Collaborate with field supervisors, project managers, and estimators to support constructability and installation accuracy Review submittals, fixture selections, as-builts, and prefabrication drawings Build and maintain design standards, templates, and QA/QC processes Mentor and support in-house designers or drafters as the department grows Support VDC-related innovation across plumbing and hydronic scopes

Required Skills:

5+ years of plumbing design experience with strong Revit and AutoCAD proficiency Working knowledge of DWV, water, gas, storm, and hydronic systems Familiarity with clash detection tools (e.g., Navisworks) and BIM coordination processes Strong understanding of plumbing codes and installation best practices Excellent communication and coordination skills Leadership experience or a strong desire to manage and mentor others PE license not required, but technical expertise and coordination skills are essential

Education and Experience Requirements:
