Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable, safety-conscious, and caring

Van Driver

to transport school-age children to and from school, field trips, and daycare activities. The ideal candidate will prioritize child safety, punctuality, and professionalism while providing a friendly and supportive experience for children and parents.

Must be available Monday through Friday. Must be available to drive the van from approximately 7:30am-9:30am AND 2:30pm-4:30pm.

Key Responsibilities:

Safely operate a daycare van to transport children to and from local schools, field trips, and scheduled activities. Adhere to all traffic laws, safety procedures, and daycare transportation policies. Perform daily vehicle safety checks and report any maintenance issues promptly. Ensure that all children are properly secured using seat belts or appropriate child restraints. Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations while ensuring safety and comfort for all passengers. Communicate professionally with parents, daycare staff, and school personnel. Maintain accurate transportation logs, including attendance and mileage reports. Assist children in entering and exiting the vehicle when needed. Keep the van clean, organized, and free of hazards. Follow proper procedures in the event of an emergency or accident. Participate in required training sessions, including CPR/First Aid and child transportation safety.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record. Must be at least 21 years old. Experience working with children, preferably in a daycare or school setting. Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and driving record check. Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Punctual, dependable, and patient with children. Ability to lift and assist children as needed.

Working Conditions:

Driving in various weather and traffic conditions. Morning and afternoon shifts; occasional mid-day or field trip hours. Frequent interaction with children ages 5-12.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
