Memorial Community Heath, Inc. is in search for an individual to fill the role of Utilization Review RN for Memorial Hospital in Aurora, NE.
This is a full-time, days position, Monday through Friday.
This position performs pre-admission screening and concurrent reviews on patient records in order to ensure compliance with utilization review regulations. The perfect candidate will have excellent communication skills with providers and patients, and able to have hard conversations. Registered Nurse with experience in case management or utilization review is preferred.
Job Duties:
Utilizes the nursing process, for the performance of patient care, to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care to achieve prioritized patient outcomes according to the RN scope of practice.
Coordinates care/services for patients to assure high quality, cost effective outcomes.
Facilitates communication and coordination between members of the health care team, involving the patient/family in the decision making process to promote continuity of care.
Analyzes and reports data for assigned patients and collaborates with health care team members to make necessary improvements.
Coordinates inpatient care plans and discharge plans between health care team members to assist in achieving appropriate reimbursement.
Maintains effective communication skills with all customers and members of the health care team.
Performs emergency treatment as required in accordance with RN scope of practice.
Performs and maintains documentation.
Promotes and ensures patient and staff safety in all aspects of responsibilities.
Follows HIPAA regulations and ensures that the confidentiality of patients' medical, personal, financial records, employee records, and organizational records is maintained.
Complies, understands, and enforces state and federal regulatory requirements related to the performance of Memorial Community Health operations and requirements, including but not limited to HIPAA, the Code of Conduct, the Compliance Policy, Safety and Infection Control, all department and organization-wide policies, Critical Access Hospital requirements, and Federal and State of Nebraska regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited school/college of nursing
Associate Degree of Nursing and/or Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of five (5) years recent clinical or social work experience preferred
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nebraska
Chemotherapy Certified or willing to obtain within 6 months of employment
