Position Overview

The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Utility Services Engineer I in the Department of Utility Services. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.

Under general supervision, provides assistance to senior-level engineers in the areas of research, data collection, project administration, and preparation of reports; and performs related duties as assigned. This classification is distinguished as being the first in the Utility Services Engineer series. The Engineer I does not require registration as a Professional Engineer. Incumbents are eligible to non-competitively promote to Engineer II when they are licensed as a Professional Engineer with the State of Nevada.

Salary placement for non-represented positions is based on a comprehensive compensation review and takes into consideration the candidate\'s qualifications as well as internal equity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor\'s Degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
  • Two (2) years of responsible, diversified experience in a related engineering discipline
  • Note: An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered
  • Possess a valid Engineer Intern (EI) Certification.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Nevada or \xe2\x80\x9cborder state\xe2\x80\x9d driver\'s license, as defined by NRS 483
