The hours for this position are Monday-Thursday 5am-3pm with three-day weekends! Crescent Woolen Mills is a manufacturer of woolen-spun yarns located on the western shore of Lake Michigan in beautiful Two Rivers, WI. Crescent has provided the best natural and synthetic yarns to the textile industry for almost 100 years. Crescent Woolen Mills converts fibers into yarns sold to manufacturers of knitted and woven products. The textile operations performed by Crescent Woolen Mills include blending, carding, spinning, winding, doubling, and twisting. In addition, Crescent\xe2\x80\x99s wholly owned subsidiary, Owen Glove Lining, manufactures knitted fleece linings for the safety, apparel and sporting goods industries. Fibers converted into yarns by Crescent Woolen Mills include wool, alpaca, angora, nylon, acrylic, polyester, Nomex, Kevlar and Kanecaron modacrylic. Our technical staff regularly participate in the research and development efforts of our customers to understand their needs and provide guidance in making material recommendations. Crescent Woolen Mills is the recognized industry leader in innovative new blends. Crescent Woolen Mills is currently seeking a Utility Person : Napper.
A Napper performs a variety of material handling and related functions under the immediate direction of the team lead. Ongoing duties may include, but are not limited to, moving yarn and fabric, bringing fabric to scale, weighing fabric and recording weights of fabric on tickets, loading napper machine with fabric and sewing ends together for continuous run, placing fabric onto steamer and unloading full rolls of fabric.

• Napper will learn how to operate knitting machines.
• Must use appropriate safety equipment and notify shift supervisor at once of any hazards detected, any near miss accidents and/or any accidents which take place.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or directed.

Minimum Educational / Experience Qualifications

• High School Education / GED preferred
• Past manufacturing experience preferred
• Must be punctual and reliable

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Frequent bending/stooping, squatting, reaching above shoulder level, crouching and lifting (up to 60 lbs)
• Continual walking in a relatively confined area is required
• Frequent standing at floor level and above floor level on equipment
• Coordination of skills performed at heights no greater than three feet
• Exposure to extremes (90\xc2\xba F) in temperature
• Good vision is required, 20/20 or corrected to 20/20
• Frequent and continuous use of hands and arms
• Employees with sensitivities to dust may be exposed to airborne dust, silk and synthetic fibers and are encouraged to wear a mask to help filter out airborne fiber.

• Exposure to elevated temperatures and noise from machinery
• A normal working day consists of a 10 hour day, overtime when needed
• Work hours: Monday \xe2\x80\x93 Thursday, 5:00 a.m. \xe2\x80\x93 3:00 p.m. with a half hour paid lunch break

This is a full-time, benefits eligible entry-level position. The hours for this position are Monday-Thursday 5am-3pm with three-day weekends! Overtime is scheduled for Fridays as needed. A high school diploma/GED and manufacturing experience is preferred. This is a physical job with frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, and lifting 50-70 pounds. Good vision is required and must be able to work in an environment that is exposed to air borne dust, silk, and synthetic fibers.
