Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Utility Construction Cable Plow Operator to join our team. This role involves operating specialized equipment to install underground fiber optic cables efficiently and safely across various job sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, landscaping, or related fields, with the ability to work in different locations and adapt to diverse project requirements. This position offers opportunities for hands-on work with a variety of tools and machinery, contributing to essential infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

Operate cable plow equipment and bucket truck to install aerial and underground fiber cable. Conduct site assessments and prepare the work area for cable installation, including marking and clearing pathways. Use hand tools and maintenance equipment to ensure machinery is functioning properly before and during operation. Follow safety protocols and industry standards to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Collaborate with team members to coordinate project tasks and meet deadlines efficiently. Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including lawn care, landscape maintenance, plowing, tree trimming, and hardscape work as needed on job sites. Assist with irrigation, gardening, tree care, horticulture, and landscape maintenance tasks when required. Repair plumbing, irrigation systems as needed if they are dam during installation. Travel between multiple job sites as needed, maintaining flexibility in scheduling and location.

Skills

Mechanical knowledge of construction equipment, power tools, and hand tools. Experience with excavators, cable plows, or similar machinery preferred. Strong background in construction, landscaping, or horticulture-related fields such as lawn care, landscape maintenance, or tree care. Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and effectively in various environments. Knowledge of irrigation systems, plowing, tree trimming, hardscape installation, and general maintenance tasks is a plus. Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions precisely. Adaptability to travel frequently between different work sites while maintaining productivity. Physical stamina for outdoor work in varying weather conditions. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about utility construction and landscape maintenance who thrive in dynamic environments requiring technical skills and versatility.
Job Type: Contract

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 60 per week
