About the Role

The Global Finance Operations (GFO) team is an organization established within Dow Jones to support the global finance operations of Dow Jones, and shared services for NewsCorp HQ and other NewsCorp Companies. GFO provides value by developing and delivering a suite of business solutions and support services that are valued by our internal and external customers. You will ensure compliance across the upstream systems in the order processing and billing process, look across the different products of the organization, and flag and look into sanction hits, tagging government accounts and assisting legal in reporting on compliance mandates. You will also assist with completing vendor form submissions, helping to automate the repetitive responses as much as possible. You will manage data in multiple systems, run multiple reports, and monitoring/tracking accounts and necessary info to comply with sanctions, worldwide. To be successful, you will work across all levels of the organization and perform value-based analysis, lead cross-functional projects, and make recommendations to upper management and legal regarding improvements to existing processes and workflow; and help ensure understanding around said compliance needs. You will report to the Senior Director, GFO, Global Billing Services and be based in our Princeton, New Jersey office.

You Will:

Handle Level 1 screening of accounts, including some pre-legal analysis in proprietary RiskCenter software. This would be performed for DowJones and the Shared Service companies DowJones takes care of.

Pull reports from multiple systems and review and tag government accounts; providing necessary intel on government accounts for compliance purposes.

Manage collections and all invoicing/act of acceptance creation and distribution for CIS countries; and other documentation requirements.

Complete vendor forms, including collaboration across other departments inside and outside of finance to obtain appropriate responses; help build potential \xe2\x80\x9clibrary\xe2\x80\x9d to more efficiently respond to vendor form onboarding requests.

Help assess if RFPIO (a tool used for RFPs) is suitable candidate to help the workflow gain efficiency.

Assist legal with compliance mandates, including SEC requirements, annual blocked property certification, annual compliance certification for Risk & Compliance.

Advise the top management on business operations relating to investment, risks and any other policy development.

Apply and interpret audit and compliance requirements for various departments within GFO and ensure information is shared accordingly.

Liaise with other departmental heads to ensure that all business operations are following business policies and help point out process and workflow changes if necessary.

Lead special projects and ad hoc requests.

Collaborate to build relationships at all levels and communicate with other employees, vendors and customers.

Contribute to the success of the collaborative culture of the Dow Jones Finance Department and continue to emphasize our pristine compliance approach and reputation.

You Have:

Excellent analytical and reasoning skills.

A moral code and sense of ethics.

Solid understanding of risk and compliance principles and frameworks.

Ability to understand the impact of regulatory changes on the business.

Experience maintaining sensitive records and preparing reports with the ability to meet deadlines.

Ability to recognize problems, collect data, draw valid conclusions and define/suggest resolution.

Ability to think strategically and get to the \xe2\x80\x9cstory behind the numbers\xe2\x80\x9d.

The longer term goals in your strategy.

Demonstrated initiative with good communication skills.

Existing compliance experience with sanctions, must have multi-language skills.

Four-year college degree in Finance, Accounting, or Industry with 7+ years of related experience.
