Field Technician (Independent Contractor) -- New York (URGENT)
About the role
We're urgently seeking a reliable, hands-on
Field Technician
to perform on-site mini-server installations and basic maintenance at retail locations. These edge devices power real-time, AI-based shoplifting detection.Key responsibilities
Visit assigned retail stores. Introduce yourself to staff and coordinate access to the internet router. Configure
port forwarding
and follow step-by-step guidance from a remote technician. Liaise with the store'sCCTV provider
when necessary. Submit a brief visit report after each job.Requirements
Comfortable with basic network setups (router access, IPs,
port-forwarding
). Working knowledge of networking concepts (LAN/WAN, IP addressing).Car and valid driver's license
for travel within the New York area. Professional, courteous communication with store personnel. Able to work independently, follow remote instructions, and report clearly.1099 independent contractor
