Position Details:

The Hospitalist program is large, vibrant, and growing! Hartford Hospital is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join their Hospitalist team. This role is perfect for new grads and experienced providers alike. All our Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) are met with a comprehensive orientation provided by our exceptional Physician and Advanced Practice Hospitalists. The successful APP will provide full-spectrum inpatient care, including triaging, admitting, rounding, discharging, and addressing changes in clinical status.

Role: Open to Physician Assistants or Acute Care Nurse Practitioners

Location: 80 Seymour Street, Hartford, 06102

Setting: Inpatient medicine, hospitalist

Schedule: Flexible schedule! Full-time nights. Premium differentials offered.

Call schedule: No call

Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistants Role Scope:

Under established guidelines and in collaboration and/or supervision with the practice physician(s), Advanced Practitioners perform routine physical examinations, and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients.

In consultation with the physician(s) and care team members, Advanced Practitioners develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, e.g., referral to other health team members or specialists.

Advanced Practitioners provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider\xe2\x80\x99s practice as designated by protocols and identifies problems outside of their scope of practice and refers appropriately to physician.

Qualifications

Requirements:
  • Licensure: Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible)
  • Training: Certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
