A Day in the Life of an Unrepresented Casualty Adjuster:

  • Investigate single and multi-vehicle auto accidents involving property damage and/or bodily injury using innovative tools and technology to capture recorded statements, photos and/or the review of police reports to resolve losses.
  • Document claims through active listening and use of data to investigate and assess claim coverage, liability, and damages while reviewing medical records and/or bills.
  • Summarize liability decision and evaluate claim worth before negotiating and settling with customer in accordance with business unit methodologies.
  • Communicate empathetically with customers and help them through their claim process in a fast, fair and easy manner.
  • Use data and analytics to problem solve and contribute to team goals by sharing ideas and opinions.
Remote Home-Based Work

This position is a permanent remote home-based role. Your home office does not need to be near an Allstate office, but it does need to be in the United States. This position is not available for California, Alaska, and Hawaii residents.

When you work from home full time, you\'ll need:

a home office - a dedicated workspace in your residence that is private and free from distractions
a minimum internet bandwidth of 50 MB down/5 MB up
appropriate work surface and seating

What will Allstate provide?

A technology bundle that includes all equipment needed to perform your work from home (laptop, monitors, headset, keyboard, mouse)
Connectivity reimbursement of $80 per month to off set some of the cost of internet

Key Responsibilities:
  • Researches and responds to moderately complex customer communications, concerns, conflicts or issues
  • Summarizes documents and enters into claim system notes, documenting a claim fi le with notes, evaluations and decision making process
  • Sets initial reserve, updates reserve, documents rationale and claim summary notes
  • Determines and explains minimum coverage limits in moderately complex claims involving single or multiple claimants, also determines claim value
  • Negotiates and settles claims in accordance with business unit best practices
  • Reviews medical reports in preparation for claims settlement evaluation
Job Qualifications:

You\'re a great Match for this Role if:
  • You have a High School Diploma/GED or higher
  • You have a bachelor\'s degree and/or prior experience in handling property damage and/or bodily injury claims
  • You have previous experience working with customers over the phone in a high-volume environment
  • You want to utilize your customer service skills to help restore peoples\' lives
  • You have a strong desire to make a difference through compassionate customer service
  • You are willing to work flexible hours or weekends when our customers need you
  • You can apply your knowledge of insurance policies, coverages, and regulations to claims processes and adhere to applicable legal compliance standards using your negotiation and/or arbitration skills.
  • You can apply industry knowledge to support the business unit in support of team objectives by investigating and evaluating simple to moderately complex claims.
  • You\'re an empathic, upbeat and friendly self-starter who can work independently, as well as, on a team
  • You\'re excited about solving problems and coming up with creative solutions
  • You\'re organized and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • You\'re known for clear and professional communication - both written and verbal
  • Being bilingual and/or having prior military experience is a plus
  • Employees that have 1 year experience in their current role will have preferred consideration

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

As a condition of employment, you will be required to obtain an adjuster\'s license. Your manager will work with you along with the centralized licensing team to ensure that you are properly licensed.

Compensation Data

You may be eligible for a $1,000 Licensing Sign-on Bonus if you have the applicable active licenses needed for this role. This could include Home Resident Property & Casualty License, Designate Home State (DHS) Florida or Texas License, and/or applicable Appraiser License.

Candidates who have previously worked for and are seeking to be rehired at Allstate and its family companies are not eligible for this sign-on bonus.

Compensation offered for this role is $48,000.00-$71,725.00 per year and is based on experience and qualifications.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
