Job Description

Sandstone Spring Valley is currently on the hunt for a Unit Clerk to join our growing team! The Unit Clerk works under the direction of the Director of Medical Records and the Director of Nursing. The Unit Clerk assists the clinical leadership team to prepare admission documents, charts, associated forms, and tasks, communicating with the Unit Manager, ADON, and DON for resident appointment scheduling for residents; including arranging transportation services if needed. The Unit Clerk also answers incoming telephone calls to the Nurses' Station, assists callers with their needs, answers call lights, and locating the appropriate team member.

The Job:

Entering in requisitions for lab and diagnostic procedures. Uploading documents to the appropriate medical record. Schedule appointment requests and communicate with the Transportation department. Answer incoming phone calls to the nursing station and direct callers to the proper party, answer any questions possible, and provide concierge-style service for all incoming call needs. Be available at the nursing station to answer questions and coordinate care. Complete new admission and or ensure the new admission process is complete, including all necessary documentation and follow-up items. Uphold all company policies as well as state and federal regulations as well as maintain a high level of care for residents. Assist in answering call lights and directing available team members to residents to fulfill their needs. Complete all other assigned tasks and responsibilities as they pertain to this position as well as any other responsibilities you have been delegated and cross-trained to perform.

The Schedule:

PRN - as needed (3 shifts/month)

Minimum Requirements:

1+ Years Experience as a Unit Clerk / Unit Secretary 1+ Years Experience in Healthcare

Preferred Requirements:

1+ Years Experience Management
