We are seeking a professional, reliable

Unarmed Security Guard

to join our private alternative education facility serving high school students. This role focuses on maintaining a

safe, respectful, and supportive school environment

for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate combines strong situational awareness with the ability to connect calmly and appropriately with teenagers in an educational setting.

You will serve as the first point of contact at the school each day, ensuring campus safety, enforcing site policies, and assisting with daily operations. Responsibilities

Monitor entrances, hallways, classrooms, and outdoor areas to prevent disruptions, unauthorized access, or safety concerns. Maintain positive, professional relationships with students and staff while enforcing behavioral and safety expectations. De-escalate conflicts calmly and respectfully, following school safety protocols. Observe and report incidents involving student conduct, visitors, or environmental hazards. Conduct perimeter checks and ensure all doors, gates, and exits remain secure during and after school hours. Assist with visitor check-ins, verifying identity and purpose before granting access. Respond promptly to emergencies, disturbances, or medical incidents, coordinating with administrative staff and first responders as needed. Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, incidents, and communications with administration. Support arrival and dismissal procedures to ensure safe student movement on campus.

Skills and Qualifications

Strong observational skills and sound judgment when assessing student behavior or environmental risks. Calm, patient demeanor with the ability to communicate effectively with high school-aged students. Experience in de-escalation, youth supervision, or behavioral support preferred. Prior experience in school security, corrections, law enforcement, or the military is an advantage. Working knowledge of safety, emergency response, and basic first aid (CPR certification preferred). Ability to maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality in all situations. Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive environment that aligns with the school's mission.

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (40 hours per week)
