Job Description

Job Summary:

Facilitate the smooth operation of the Ultrasound Department within Radiology by performing diagnostic Ultrasound studies, maintaining an Ultrasound quality control program, adhering to required safety measures, assisting in the Radiology Department and striving to promote a professional environment within the department and the hospital. Reflecting a caring attitude by following the principles of the guest relation program.

Education

: Completion of a recognized Ultrasound Technologist program or equivalent.

Experience

: One (1) year experience as a certified Ultrasonographer is preferred.

Licenses/Certificates:

BLS & ACLS certification is required. PALS certification is preferred.


Certification as an Ultrasonographer through ARDMS required. There is no MS State License required for Ultrasonographers. CPR certification is required.


Regularly exposed to the risk of bloodborne/airborne disease; contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances; exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, chemicals and illness); subject to varying and unpredictable situations; able to handle emergency, crisis or pressured situations; subject to multiple interruptions; occasionally subject to extended or irregular hours; requires judgment/actions that impact patient outcomes.
