As an ARFF Subject Matter Expert adjunct instructor, you will play a vital role in shaping the next generation of aviation rescue and firefighting professionals. Summary of Responsibilities

Assist in the creation and development of course materials for approved courses of study with measurable learning objectives. Collaborate on committees to prepare and update instructional materials, including: + Course outlines
+ Syllabi
+ Exams
+ Mock-ups
+ Visual aids
+ Instruction sheets
Instruct, manage, and supervise individuals and groups in classroom, prop, and drill ground settings. Apply appropriate teaching methodologies and safety practices during instruction and training activities. Prepare and conduct training sessions in accordance with UFRA standards and objectives. Administer certification exams as directed by UFRA. Work under the direction of the UFRA Assistant Director - Operations to ensure course quality and compliance with UFRA policies and standards.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

Applicant must have five years of experience teaching Fire Science subject areas. Experience with Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting. Must be certified at or above the level of teaching or testing.


Knowledge / Skills / Abilities


----------------------------------


Knowledge





Knowledge of subject material and course content related to Fire Science. Knowledge of fire terminology and hydraulics for the fire service and operating fire apparatus. Knowledge of standards, regulations, and laws pertaining to fire science, including those pertaining to the Utah Fire Service, Certification System, and the NFPA. Knowledge of computer applications. Knowledge of instructional objectives and course development techniques.

Skills

Skills in oral and written communication. Interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Skills in managing, preparing, and delivering courses in the classroom and in the field.

Abilities



Ability to work effectively with students. Ability to give and receive oral and written instructions and procedures. Ability to effectively communicate verbally, non-verbally, and in writing. Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted.
