Job Description

Angwin Academy is a local small business located in the Grand Strand that offers educational assistance to students and families in the area. We offer 1 on 1 tutoring to all ages and grades as well as help with SAT/ACT test prep. We have 2 MicrSchools in the Grand Strand that service grades 4th - 6th grades. We also offer programs for homeschool students. We are currently in search of tutors with experience in the following areas:

Middle and High School Math - to include Algebra, Algebra II, Geometry and Calculus

*Needed during high demand times 3-8pm Monday - Thursday

Duties:
- Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions as needed
- Assess students' academic needs and develop personalized lesson plans to address those needs.

- Work with parents and school teachers to develop effective intervention programming.

- Communicate regularly with parents on student progress and needs.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and learning resources to enhance students' understanding and retention of the material.
- Monitor students' progress and provide feedback on their performance.
- Help students develop effective study skills and strategies.
- Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred.
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual learning styles of students.
- Familiarity with learning technology and online tutoring platforms.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.

Summary

As a tutor, you will be instrumental in enhancing students' math skills through personalized tutoring and effective teaching strategies. You will utilize your core skills in tutoring and classroom management to create engaging learning experiences. Your expertise in curriculum development and learning technology will support the implementation of innovative educational practices.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
