Job Description

Performance Responsibilities:

The Tutor will provide additional academic support for Lake Ridge Elementary and/or Middle School students by working with small groups (1-4 students) on high-priority ELA and/or math instruction. All curriculum and materials will be provided by the school's Instructional Coaches.

Requirements:

Certified Teacher, or at minimum, ability to support student development in ELA and/or math skills and standards and meet one of the following requirements:

At least a two-year college degree; Passed the Parapro assessment (within the first year of employment); One year or 1,000 hours of previous employment experience in a school or working with children; Passed annual school-level evaluations; Successfully completed 48 hours of college level classes; Has a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential; or Other requirements approved by IDOE.

Responsibilities include:

Commit to 3-4 hours of Tutoring Blocks per day, 4-5 days per week (12 to 20 hrs per week) Preparation of materials for tutoring sessions that may include manipulatives and other hands-on materials Track and monitor individual student participation and learning Regular communication with classroom teachers, building administrators and parents about student progress Supervision of small groups (1-4) of students during the tutoring block
