SUMMARY:



The Trust Officer II administers the closing process for all personal trust accounts. Work with trust beneficiaries, accountants, and attorneys and partner with internal colleagues in tax, operations, administration, and investments to ensure accurate and timely tax clearance and payments, trust termination fees, and delivery of assets.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily.

Administer fiduciary accounts and interpret fiduciary documents in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and governing documents. Engage with and provide a high level of communication to beneficiaries with a focus on client satisfaction and asset retention, as appropriate. Engage with and provide guidance to internal colleagues, including but not limited to, portfolio managers, trust officers and operation colleagues regarding the trust termination process to ensure seamless information flow and achieve settlement goals. Collaborate, build, and maintain strong relationships with external business partners, including financial advisors, accountants and attorneys. Interface with tax partners to determine final tax reserve and fiduciary income and tax payments. Calculate and pay final account expenses. Facilitate retitling of various specialized assets including real estate, partnership interests, etc. Review and prepare trust accountings, receipt, release and indemnification agreements. Confirm distribution instructions, initiate, and oversee asset transfers and cash distributions. Oversee administrative review of closing trust accounts. Check files for correct forms, codes, and review payments and transactions for accuracy. Review trust document to ensure documents are in compliance. Support reporting requirements to the Trust Administrative Committee including timely and accurate reporting. Work with appropriate colleagues regarding liquidation and investment strategies for various fiduciary accounts. Comply fully with all policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements. Maintain all appropriate training and continuing education requirements as applicable. Strategically work with internal colleagues to develop new business opportunities from closing trust accounts.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR ABILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, the individual should have the following skills and abilities.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion. Proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint. Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Exhibit professional phone demeanor.

Good organizational skills, efficiency skills, and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Be able to work effectively independently and collaboratively with a broad range of executives and members of the firm. Attention to detail. Commitment to professionalism, accountability, customer focus, and teamwork.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:



College degree required Financial services experience and industry experience required

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION:

CTFA preferred



INTERNAL APPLICANT POLICY:



Internal applicants must be in good standing and have a minimum of 1 year of service with Kestra. Internal applicants must also have a minimum of 1 year service in current role unless approved by EVP.
