Position Summary:
The Truck Sales Representative obtains and secures assigned amount of profitable truck sales while also working at expanding customer base.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
Secures orders and conducts surveys of assigned territory/segment
Studies product population, locates new prospects and determines prospects needs
Plans sales call, makes presentations, points out FABs of product and emphasizes all of the advantages of doing business with all Rihm Kenworth departments
Helps customers solve problems, provides technical assistance and guidance as needed and informs customers on new product developments
Follows and maintains appropriate office and company procedures, policies, and etiquette
Effectively establishes and maintains relationships with customers
Resolves any customer complaints and issues in a timely and professional manner
Participates in and assists at exhibits, demonstrations, and meetings
Keeps current with factory, vendor and competition new product and communicates to internal team as needed
Maintains call records, follows up on leads, contract lettings and inquiries, and makes this information available to management through compliant use of CRM
Advises management of all changes in assigned territory/segment which can affect Rihm Kenworth's success
Promotes and markets company's truck inventory
Ensures equipment is correctly delivered and meets all conditions of sale
Provides customer with demonstration of all vehicle controls, options and features
Other duties as assigned to meet business requirements
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED
2+ years commercial truck and/or heavy equipment sales experience
Key Attributes/Skills/Characteristics:
Honest and reputable, both in representation of company and product as well as when appraising potential truck trades or purchases
Familiar and comfortable with basic computer and software operations
Thorough and detailed in all forms of communication
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills and manners
Persistent and motivated
Ability to effectively work independently and in teams
Willingness to travel to other locations
Preferred Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of truck specifications and operations
Some college
Certified Driver's License (CDL)
Bilingual abilities are a plus (Spanish or other languages)
