Virtual Monitor Tech
who can spot dangerous arrhythmias from miles away (literally), this contract role in Phoenix is calling your name. You'll be part of an advanced Virtual Hospital Environment, monitoring up to 60 patients from a centralized command center using state-of-the-art GE and Ascom systems. If laser-focused attention and clinical precision are your thing, this is a job worth watching.

Perform remote cardio-pulmonary rhythm surveillance for multiple locations via central monitoring station.
Recognize, track, and report dangerous rhythm changes, arrhythmias, and life-threatening conditions following protocol.
Immediately notify local RN staff using established communication pathways.
Document rhythm changes accurately and consistently in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards.
Follow all command center policies, communication procedures, and escalation protocols.
Maintain strict adherence to no cell phone policy; hospital provides official work phone.
Attend required orientation (2-3 days of day shift even for night shift roles).
Use monitoring systems effectively, including GE and Ascom.
Collaborate with Supervisor and Director when necessary for routine and emergency situations.
Opportunity to cross-train into Virtual Patient Companion or Clinical Connection Specialist roles.
Maintain awareness of departmental metrics, patient safety standards, and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited program including EKG interpretation.
Minimum
2 years recent related experience
(3 years preferred).
Must pass
Advanced Dysrhythmia Exam
(one attempt; lethal rhythms are pass/fail).
Must not hold another job while on assignment.
Ability to monitor 45-60 patients using advanced IT systems.
Must adhere to strict device-use and communication guidelines.
Education
Completion of an accredited program that includes EKG interpretation and rhythm recognition competencies.
Knowledge & Skills
Strong competency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and identification of arrhythmias.
High-level attention to detail while monitoring large patient volumes.
Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to emergent changes.
Computer literacy and proficiency with remote monitoring platforms.
Clear communication skills for relaying urgent information to clinical staff.
Working Conditions
12-hour shifts:
0700-1930
or
1900-0730
No fixed schedules; flexibility required.
Weekend requirement:
4 weekend shifts per schedule

Holiday shifts required.
No call, though low-census standby may occur.
Dress code: Business casual.
No timesheet signatures required by hospital.
Mandatory in-person orientation for initial go-live group.
