We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Transportation Sales Agent to join our team. We focus on dump truck and dump trailer customers that are involved with construction or agriculture products from the Burlington, NC market to the east coast of NC down into Wilmington markets. This role involves developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients within the supply chain and logistics sectors, focusing on transportation management, freight solutions, and logistics sales. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in communicating with construction and agriculture companies throughout eastern NC regions. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where strategic negotiation, account management, and customer relationship management are key to success.
Responsibilities
Develop new business opportunities through lead generation, prospecting, and networking within the construction and agriculture businesses.
Manage existing client accounts by providing tailored transportation solutions that meet their supply chain needs.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless transportation planning, dispatching, and execution of freight services.
Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), CRM software, EDI, and AS400 platforms for data entry, tracking, and reporting.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements with carriers, 3PL providers, NVOCCs, and other logistics partners.
Collaborate with internal departments on logistics planning, carrier sales, and dispatching to optimize transportation efficiency.
Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new sales opportunities within the supply chain sector.
Prepare detailed proposals and presentations for prospective clients demonstrating the value of our transportation solutions.
Requirements
Proven experience in supply chain management, transportation management systems (TMS), or logistics sales.
Understanding of the construction and agriculture world.
Demonstrated success in B2B sales environments with a focus on logistics or freight solutions.
Excellent negotiation skills coupled with effective account management capabilities.
Ability to generate leads through various channels including cold calling and networking.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build lasting customer relationships.
Self-motivated with strong organizational skills to manage multiple accounts simultaneously in a fast-paced setting. This role is integral to expanding our reach within the transportation industry while providing exceptional service to our clients through innovative logistics solutions.
Pay: $52,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
