Job Description

Transportation Project Engineer/Project Manager
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management & Design:

  • Lead the design and management of transportation and natural resource engineering projects.
  • Involve NEPA permitting, engineering report writing, and construction management.
  • Coordinate with engineering staff, contractors, suppliers, and clients.
Use of Design Software:
  • Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software for preparing project documentation.
Technical Communication:
  • Write technical reports, specifications, and correspondence for diverse audiences.
Collaboration & Approvals:
  • Coordinate with government agencies, clients, and other professionals to obtain design approvals.
Team and Project Management:
  • Manage internal teams and ensure projects are executed profitably.
Job Requirements:
Education:
  • BS/BA in Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in transportation or natural resource project design.
Licensure:
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in Montana, Idaho, Washington, or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
Project Oversight:
  • Manage scope, timelines, budgets, and client expectations.
  • Oversee planning, design, and construction of projects, creating construction documents, and handling construction administration.
Independent & Team Work:
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment.
Strong Work Ethic & Engineering Understanding:
  • Excellent work ethic and a solid understanding of engineering principles.
