Caterpillar is seeking a Supply Chain Planning Engineer in Sanford, NC. Also known as a Transportation Analyst, you will be the primary resource in establishing annual budgets, tracking and understanding cost variances, and helping to develop solutions to improve transportation efficiencies for the North and South American BCP facilities
What you can look forward to in this role:

• Establish and manage the team's budget, research opportunities to address gaps in the budget & implement solutions.
• Collaborate across functional teams, including material requirements team, demand and orders team, global purchasing, transportation, packaging, logistics, change management, quality, and operations.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives for supply chain efficiency and low-cost solutions.
• Own readiness governance for key supply chain functions, including:

• Supplier resourcing and onboarding
• Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) readiness
• Planning parameter alignment
• New Product Introduction (NPI) programs
• Champion "Right Part, Right Time" LEAN initiatives to streamline operations

A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:

• Logistics Management: Knowledge of logistics and management; ability to follow proper processes and run operations for effective and efficient movement of materials and finished products.
• Project Management: Ability to develop and execute solutions to complex problems that drive efficiencies, cost reductions, etc.
• Supply Chain Management - MFG: Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and use, strategies, practices and tools for controlling the logistical processes.

Top Candidates for this position may also have:

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in supply chain or a related curriculum or equivalent relevant experience.
• Significant experience in supply chain.
• Demonstrated experience using Data Analytics tools to connect data and concepts and use to recommend, develop and implement strategies.
• A strong customer focus and urgency to satisfy the needs of operations
• A demonstrated ability to work independently to drive results.
• A demonstrates ability to quickly learn how to navigate through all supply chain systems such as SAP Mach1, BOB-J, Assurance of Supply tools, Transportation tracking systems, and Global Purchasing systems.
• Experience with GMM, Blue Yonder and Yardview programs.
• Demonstrated creative thinking abilities and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of International transportation and trade.

Summary Pay Range: $95,640.00 - $143,520.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
