Transportation Aide

. Candidates must possess a valid AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance card and CPR/First Aid Certification. Candidates must possess a current Driver's License and be willing to have driving record reviewed.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Assist school bus driver while the bus is in operation and with emergencies and with bus evacuations Assist special education students during transport to include safe loading and unload from buses during normal and emergency transport Instruct special education students and/or other passengers in the rules and regulations to maintain safety on the school bus Monitor students on and/or around the buses to ensure the safety and welfare of the students Assist in the implementation of strategies to manage student behavior Report observations and incidents (i.e. discipline, accidents, inappropriate social behavior, etc) and communicate information to appropriate district personnel Secure students with safety equipment (i.e. safety vest, seat belts, wheelchairs and tie downs, car seats, etc) to ensure the safety and welfare of students Assist bus drivers in school bus post-trip checks; assist relief drivers with routines and route destinations Complete all required paperwork; attend all required meetings Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit Regular and on-time attendance required Drive a van from time to time Other duties as assigned

Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with students, parents, teachers and district personnel at all levels Ability to meet time schedules Ability to work varying route assignments Physical ability to pull, push, reach, bend and walk Ability to work both AM & PM bus routes every weekday.

Required Qualifications:

Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card CPR and First Aid Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

Van driving experience CPI Training
