We have an exciting opportunity for a Transplanting Leadto join our Production Department. Responsible for coordinating and supporting with daily transplanting activities. This position ensures production schedules are met, quality standards are maintained, and team members are trained and supported to work effectively and safely. The Transplanting Lead works hands-on alongside the crew while guiding workflow, and monitoring plant quality.


JOB DUTIES:




Lead and train a small team (5-10 employees) in a fast-paced transplanting operation, ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety. Set up and oversee transplanting lines, materials, and equipment to meet production standards and targets. Uphold transplanting standards by monitoring work and coaching the crew for consistent quality. Collaborate with Transplant Supervisor to plan daily workloads, verify correct crops, and maintain accurate production records. Track daily production and utilize equipment effectively to maintain workflow and product quality. Oversee equipment operation and crop laydown and train staff to maintain quality and efficiency. Monitor staff placement and workflow on lines to support Lean Flow and uninterrupted operations. Ensure adherence to transplant standards and company Safety policies. Assist in other tasks as needed.

COMPETENCIES:




Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Positive mindset and effective verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills. Knowledge of plants, crop production, and greenhouse operations preferred. Enthusiasm for continuous improvement and process optimization. Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.



QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:




High school diploma or equivalent experience in agriculture. 2-3 years of hands-on experience in agricultural production, including planting. Experience in leading, training, coaching, mentoring staff. Familiarity with production schedules, quality control, and safe handling of plants and equipment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:




Work long hours as needed during peak season, including weekends. Continuously walk, stand, bend, kneel (including working below knee-level), reach overhead, and move side to side for extended periods. Work indoors and outdoors, in seasonal temperatures and conditions.
Lift up to 50 pounds in an environment that is often hot.

PAY RANGE:

$18 - $19 per hour



Pay rate is determined by various components including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The pay rate is one component of the total compensation package. Other rewards vary by position and location.
