Job Description


You are a talented Product Strategy / Digital Transformation associate primed to help execute on strategic transformation of the broader Payments organization, delivering on a senior leadership priority.

The group functions as an internal consulting and transformation function. You will be part of the global CIB Payments Transformation & Execution team and will have the opportunity to work on many initiatives across the business. Our team is a diverse mix of talented individuals from JP Morgan Chase and several top tier consulting firms, including McKinsey, Oliver Wyman, and Deloitte.

The Transformation team is designing, developing and enabling the execution of the target state product and technology operating model and agility strategy globally for all products and platforms across Payments. This initiative is a top strategic priority for the Head of Payments, a JPM Operating Committee Member, and will raise the market profile of the Payment business, allow us to continue to provide a market-leading solutions and client experience, while improving time-to-market, productivity, quality and customer-centricity.

This highly visible team/role entails supporting Payments leadership and senior stakeholders to design and deliver a best-in-class product architecture and operating model strategy, as well as enabling implementation of initiatives from early pilots to scaling the transformation across the organization in collaboration with a diverse set of stakeholders.

Job responsibilities

We are seeking a talented and experienced Associate to help progress transformation initiatives that are core to the business. The position represents an excellent opportunity for qualified candidates to:

  • Apply structured problem-solving and digital strategy to address top strategic priorities
  • Develop innovative solutions to transform the business and operating model
  • Help design and steer execution of strategy to across one of the largest and most global Payments organizations in Financial Services
  • Develop a deep understanding of the fast-evolving and innovative Payments business and ecosystem (including Fintechs)
  • Sharpen project and stakeholder relationship management experience and acumen
  • Broaden network and capabilities in an environment of active coaching and mentorship, in order to advance to other roles within the company if desired

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
  • 2+ years of experience with a premier strategy consulting firm or an internal strategy consulting / corporate strategy team; Bachelors degree, MBA preferred
  • Good presentation and communication skills - can advise and grow to influence across all levels of the organization
  • Exposure and developing track record of success in developing and executing large-scale initiatives, with transformation (digital/strategic ideal)
  • Experience in product management and product development life cycle - from ideation to delivery and value capture
  • Good understanding of agile frameworks and their suitability, including experience executing and scaling agility practices
  • Ideally, knowledge and understanding of Transaction Banking business models, products, and clients
  • Experience with and/or prior collaboration with Sales, Operations and Technology; Good partnership skills and overall strategy/operations advisory experience; Strategic thinker who can quickly develop understanding and support of the goals and direction of the firm
